Amtrak: Anaheim to San Diego

Another adventure. Tiombe and Jeff are attending a baby shower in San Diego so instead of going directly to Victorville I decided to catch the train and meet them in San Diego. Why go south to go back? Well, I saw an ad in the visitor’s guide about the scenic route of the Pacific Surfliner from Amtrak. And I thought it would be a good experience and a hell of a great photo op. I can get lots of pictures of the California coastline.

The cab ride from the Hilton to the train station was 7 minutes, too, too early for my train an hour early. The station was directly across the parking lot from the Angels’ stadium so my photo op begins with the Anaheim Angels’ home field. Unfortunately for me it was not open to the public so I was forced to take pictures of the façade

The train arrived and I must say it was pretty nice, a relatively new train. I sat upstairs for a better view as I thought. For the 1st hour there was nothing but neighborhoods on either side of the track. I thought maybe the great scenery was the other direction toward Los Angeles. I began to feel disappointed. I decided to get comfortable and relax, plug in my iphone and play some games. Then on the of the car I saw a break in the houses and realized that we were a few feet from the coast. The next stop was San Clemente Pier and that was on the _______ Beach by far probably the longest beach I have ever seen with thousands of people lined off all over under tents, umbrellas and other make-shift coverings. Along the pier itself
